The Donut Tool for Events

Supporting event organisers to measure, improve, and celebrate their environmental sustainability.

About the Tool

The Donut Tool for Events (DATE) is a self-assessment tool for event organisers based on structured questions across eight areas of environmental practice from energy and travel to food, materials, and biodiversity. It provides a personalised results report showing your current performance and where you can improve, with a carbon footprint estimate* and signposts to further information such as case studies.

Aligned to the UK Green Events Code of Practice industry standard and Climate Transition 2030 for Live Outdoor Events

The Donut Tool assessment is based on the UK Green Events Code of Practice (GECoP), a sustainability standard for the live outdoor events sector developed by Vision for Sustainable Events. The benchmarking methodology of the tool uses the latest industry benchmarks published in the Show Must Go On report #3, and is aligned with the Climate Transition Plan 2030 for Outdoor Live Events.

How it works

It's remarkably quick, simple and easy!
